La o judecată, cerbul
Întreabă insinuant
Pe un rîs:”Tu… de ce nu-l
Mai saluţi pe elefant?
Şi cît ciuta se va plînge
Că-i aţii cărările?
Şi de ce atîta sînge
Verşi în toate serile?
Ori ţi s-a urît de bine?!
Ai tu rude la palat
Ori serviciul nu-ţi convine?
Să răspunzi imediat!”
Vorbi rîsul:”Rog iertare,
Preacinstită adunare,
Şi tu, rege leu, mă iartă:
Eu de azi mă las de ceartă
Şi de alte fapte rele,
Jur pe gheare şi măsele!”
Şi pe loc le dezgoleşte
De-ngrozeşte-ntreaga sală.
Cerbul numai că-i zîmbeşte
Şi anunţă:
- Achitat!
Aşteptaţi şi o Morală?
