Translation - English Boys and girls have strong immune systems, adequate weight and good vision thanks to the provision of vitamin A and nutritional sprinkles
The provision of vitamin A and nutritional sprinkles to Bolivian girls and boys has had positive results. The children have grown and attained appropriate height and weight for their ages, and they now have good vision. Their immune systems are stronger, reducing the frequency of illnesses, particularly colds, and speeding recovery when illnesses do occur. Furthermore, through information provided by local clinics, their mothers have learned about the importance of the micronutrients in fortifying their children’s daily nutrition and the importance of providing a balanced diet based on foods that promote growth.
Mercedes, one of the mothers waiting for her daughter’s regular check-up at Hospital Mexico, in Sacaba, in the Department of Cochabamba, tell us, “Rosita is three years and seven months old. She’s big for her age. The doctor tells me her weight is good, at 17 kilos. She copes with colds better. Sometimes she gets sick, but not very sick. I think it’s because of everything they give her at the hospital – the vitamin A, the sprinkles. I’ve taken her to all the check-ups, always.”

Highest quality translation, interpretation and editing
I am a Spanish-English translator, interpreter and editor, helping people communicate with others effectively and elegantly for over 16 years. For me, each job merits the time and preparation necessary to provide the customer with the highest-quality service or product, finding the right tone and wording for their particular industry, context and intent. This is what my long-term customers have to say about the quality of my work:
Dianne Berest is currently doing most of our translations. I find her work to be of excellent quality.I was just wishing she had been the translator of the project profiles I am currently revising. (Program Officer, Heifer International)
Your work is excellent and so is the communication with you, we are very happy with your work and the best way to know this is that you are always the first editor that we contact when we need one. (Fisheries and Aquaculture Officer, FAO)
In my and Ross's opinion, who speaks Spanish, Dianne was the best of the bunch. (Business Correspondent, Bureau of Investigative Journalism, regarding my interpretation of his presentation)
Specialized in development and business
My primary areas of expertise are development and business. Some of the specific development topics and business sectors I've worked with are the following:
Development: Small-scale farming, climate change, conservation, disaster risk reduction and preparedness, organizational strengthening, microfinance, education, women and gender issues, water and sanitation, communication for development, democracy
Business: Sectors: secure logistics, telecommunications, commercial agriculture, personal care products. Functional areas: management, sales and marketing, human resources, operations, logistics, customer service
Excellent writing skills
With over 13 years' experience as an educator and trainer and over 16 years translating and editing texts written by authors whose native language is not English, I have a highly-developed capacity to express ideas and information in writing clearly and concisely. This is a particular draw for my editing customers, one of whom commented:
I am amazed by your work. It is incredible how you go through the whole document and you know exactly what we want to express each time! (Fisheries and Aquaculture Officer, FAO)
Whenever possible, I actively seek to get to know my customers and their business or development activity. This enables me to go beyond merely translating, editing or interpreting their words to crafting my work in such a way that it contributes to their aims. This also enables us to develop a relationship and flow of communication that enhances the work I do for them and makes our collaboration that much more enjoyable.
FAO, Heifer International and Brink's Inc. are some of my biggest customers. I've worked with each of them for over 10 years and have grown from providing services to one of their offices to serving their offices on several continents and across different divisions.
