I am a freelance Polish interpreter and translator. Since 2004 I have been living in England and during this time I worked for Prolingua Language Services, Plymouth City Council, Devon&Cornwall Police and Newham Council. I undertook unpaid translation (CV's, application forms and personal correspondence).
I started my translation career whilst studing in Poland (Polish-Croatian translations in legal, scientific, literature and medicine as well as subtitles for Croatian movies). After graduation I moved to Switzerland and completed German classes in a language school. I was giving private tuitions in German, Croatian and English. One year later I relocated to England and started Physiotherapy course at Plymouth University. I have been working for NHS Trust as an interpreter so my knowledge of medicine and medical terminology has significantly improved. Working for the Police and solicitors' firms I also improved my legal terminology.
In June 2007 I am going to undertake an exam in Public Service Interpreting organised by Institute of Linguists in London. |
