Born in Mexico of Cuban parents, when I was 4 years old (after having lived in Mexico and Wahington DC, USA) I went to live in Havana, Cuba.
I am fully bilingual, since I studied in an American school in Havana (1950-1960). I also studied for 3 years ('63-'66) in Moscow, Russia (former USSR). My first jobs were as translator and interpreter, while I finished my biology degree at the Univ. of Havana, Cuba (1973). I worked almost 30 years in biomedical research. After graduating, I did much travelling to specialist meetings in the former Socialist Countries. I have a MSc in Microbiology. I taught Biology to medical students at the Latin American School of Medical Science in Havana, Cuba. (For details see CV)
At present I teach Biology to 7th grade students at The Churchill School in Mexico, both classes and laboratories are in English. I am also studying a Cambridge University diploma for teachers.
I find translating and interpreting interesting because of the things you always learn and the people you meet.
