Bio
Upon graduating from University with my degree in French and Italian, I trained for a further year prior to becoming a Modern Languages Teacher in a local secondary school. Having worked my way up through the department over eleven years and taken on extra managerial responsibilities, I started to feel that my language skills were no longer being challenged in the way they should have been.
Faced with the possibility of working more and more outside the language classroom and seeing my language skills stagnate, I decided that the time for radical action had come. I tendered my resignation and decided to re-train as a translator. I already had the language skills I needed, so it was simply a matter of working towards a qualification which would stand me in good stead as a professional translator.
I embarked on a distance learning course with the City University, London, which led to the Diploma in Translation examination, run by the Institute of Linguists in the UK.
Having successfully gained the diploma, I was able to embark on translation work professionally, and since this time I have not looked back.
Apart from my translation work, I also sing professionally at Chelmsford Cathedral, play the organ for a church in Seven Kings, Ilford, and enjoy singing on an amateur basis with a number of other groups.
