I am an official translator in la Paz - Bolivia, since 15 years ago. I have studied languages first in Bolivia, mainly English and Frech and then I had the opportunity to go to the United Kingdom in order to study Linguistics. I had obtained a scholarship and so I could stay in England and afterwards in U.S.A. Due to these studies I successfully passed all the exams I had to do in order to get my Official status of a translator. Since then, I am working as a freelance translator and interpreter. My knowledge about the spanish language has allowed me to have the best results when dealing with translations from English to Spanish. To what the portuguese language is about, it is already five years I am exposed to this language due to my constant exposure to the Brazilian community since we do have family in Brazil and also best friends we usually get together. I have been practicing this language ever since, but a year ago I began my formal studies of the portuguese language and during this year I will get my Advanced Diploma in Portuguese Language Studies.
This is more or less a summary of my position as a translator. Fifteen years ago I began my activities as a translator here in La Paz , Bolivia, and since then I have been doing this for living. However, in the contrary with other fields of work, I must point out that I love translating, since I find it fascinating and also encouraging, though sometimes can be quite difficult to get the exact correspondence of one language with the other.
I am very interested on getting to know more about this system. So, please let me know about all the details concerning this way of working.
Thank you.
