After a 25-year career as a journalist and communications officer, I now use my knowledge of government, law, business and media as a translator. Since 2016, I have provided French to English/English to French translation while continuing my studies in translation and law.
I am an Associate Member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Saskatchewan (ATIS) and working towards writing the national certification exam. I am comfortable with European and Quebec French usage and can translate into North American or British English (I lived for some years in the UK and retain strong ties). My strength is in the areas of politics, business and commerce, although I am comfortable in most areas, with the exception of specialized medicine and law. In my previous career, I had extensive experience in politics, including working in the Canadian parliament. I have also worked in private business. mining, advertising and the non-profit sector.
I use Windows, Apple computers and iPad, MemoQ, Wordfast Anywhere , Memsource and most common office software applications. Payment via PayPal is preferred. Thank you for your interest.
