I am a Civil Engineer and I had graduate studies in Environmental Engineering. I decided to pursue a carreer in languages in order to work mostly at home, and be able to work close to my two children. I graduated from a very prestigious Translator's Academy in Guatemala City and I recently became certified by Guatemalan law to work as a Sworn Translator. I was raised in five countries and I speak Portuguese (from Brazil), some French, and my English is as good as my Spanish. All Latin American countries do speak Spanish, but they sometimes use different terms to mean different things. I am quite familiar with the local slangs or terms because I grew up in these different cultures. This next year, I will be getting my interpreter's degree in the English-Spanish language pair. |
