I have French and German with Philosophy in my MA from Edinburgh University.

After graduation, I helped set up an Esoteric school in the Scottish Borders, trained as a psychiatric nurse, then as a Social Worker. I returned to the school as a student on both the six-month courses and then worked in Social Work in the Scottish Criminal Justice system.

After that, I trained as a Traditional Acupuncturist and that's what I do in addition to translation. Alternative (Complementary) Medicine is a particular interest, of course.

For many years, I have translated conference papers and shorter or longer articles for learned/professional journals, but have not sought recognition or professional status until now.

I completed IoL's Diploma in Translation (German) in January 2009. Result - M,P,P.

I sat two parts of Dip Trans (French) in January2009. Result - M,P. Will complete next year.
