I am resident in the UK since 2004 and I am eligible to work in the UK as my husband (a banker) holds a work permit.
I grew up in Germany where completed my GCSE passing at the top of my class. In 1984, I moved back to India where I completed my undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from premier institutes. After completing my MBA in 1991, I joined Procter & Gamble in Mumbai. In 1995, I joined Bank of America in Delhi. I left my career in 1996 on the birth of my first child. Since then, I have followed my expatriate banker husband as we moved from India to Singapore to Amsterdam and finally to London.
My children have grown up to an age where I feel I can recommence a career. I have translated as a freelancer for some German companies. I love translating and I want to be a freelance translator. To this end, I sat for the Diploma of Translation (German to English) Examinations in January 2007. In May 2007, I got a Letter of Credit from the Institute of Linguists after having passed two papers (General and Science) out of three my first attempt. I will re-sit the third paper (Business) in January 2008.
