Dear Sir or Madame,
I am a part- time freelance translator with the solid professional legal background.
Native in Russian, I have studied law in Vilnius university, Lithuania, (Master of Law degree awarded, language of conduct - Lithuanian), Ghent university, Belgium, (Exchange programme, language of conduct - English), Erasmus university of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, (LLM degree awarded, language of conduct - English), University of Bologna, Italy, (Master of the First Level in Law and Economics awarded, language of conduct - English). Therefore, I have thorough knowledge of the Russian-Lithuanian-English legal vocabulary and specifics of the usage of legal terminology.
Moreover, I have extensive experience as a practicing lawyer- I worked as a lawyer for UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for the Refugees (Lithuanian liaison office)), National Consumer Protection Board (Lithuania) and one of the leading Lithuanian law firms. Throughout my studies and legal practice I was required to perform translations of the various legal documents, including contracts, claims, counter-claims and other procedural documents, research projects, legislation etc. I was also engaged in the localization project of the Microsoft licensing contacts. Moreover, I drafted a large number of legal documents myself, which proves the deep understanding of the underlying issues. I consider this as my greatest advantage for this type of translations as it ensures the precision and clarity.
Currently I am engaged in the PhD programme in Law and Economics (Universities of Bologna and Rotterdam) and work as a part-time freelancer specializing in legal texts. Nevertheless, I am open to any other assignments.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Yours,
Sincerely,
