Our expertise
The art of translating is above all a question of making oneself available! In scientific and technical professions, it is absolutely impossible to translate when lacking knowledge of the subject at hand. This is a fundamental difference and typical of our profession.
Philippe is a technical translator. His initial university training, graduating as Electronics Engineer, opened the doors to the professional world as a semi-conductor component's Engineer, then as Quality Engineer in both France and the UK.
Noni is an Agricultural Engineer. Her career path over the continents since 1985 has been extremely diverse, enabling her today to translate topics involving chemicals, biochemicals, electrochemicals, genetics, etc.
Igor is an Engineer having graduated from Nancy University (France) and then obtaining a PhD in Engineering in Germany. Prior to translating, he held various engineering positions in Automobile techniques, in electrotechniques, in gas techniques, in processing of plastic products, etc.
We could also introduce to Dalila, who commenced by language studies at university, before preparing a thesis on the compared technology of metallurgic products; or Véronique, who is studying biochemicals at university, though already a post-graduate in endocrinology and a PhD in pharmaceuticals, having to her credit more than 3.000 pages of translation in immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, etc.; or even Patrick, a PhD in Science.
As you can see, our skills are both scientific and technical. Our translators are all professionals having worked in these fields; fields where there is no room for approximation!
Our market sectors
Traditionaly, our clients are mainly industrials, laboratories, administrations, public services, universities or research bureaux. At Missions-Trad, such clients are grouped into three main sectors: Technical - Scientific - Medical.
