My husband and I both speak Portuguese and have lived in Brazil (I, while studying in the Atlantic Coastal Rainforest, and he, while studying in the Northeast). Karl has even worked for an interpreter for a Brazilian human rights activist at the US Department of State.

I read Spanish literature, newspapers, and recipes as a past-time. My husband is a native speaker of Spanish (Spain/Argentina). We work together on our translations.

Our daughter is being raised bilingual and attends Spanish immersion school.
