I was born in Argentina and educated at an English school in Buenos Aires. I graduated as a Public Translator both in English and French in 1976 and 1977, and started work as a freelance translator right away. By 1991 I had also obtained a Master degree in Oriental Studies from Universidad del Salvador. I taught English and French at schools and as a private coach at many international company branches in Argentina. Until 1994 I was Full Professor of Chinese Philosophy and Chinese Literature at Universidad Maimónides, courses I created and for which I translated most of its materials. Between 1998 and 2004 I taught several Seminars on Philosophical Taoism in Argentina, Spain and England.
After graduating from Film School (TEBA) I started yet another successful career as a writer. Two of my screenplays have turned into successful feature films (“Chiquititas:Rincón de luz” ans “Apasionados” ) while a third one, “El Cine de Maite, is opening in March, 2008.
I was awarded several prizes for my short stories and screenplays, such as the Julio Cortázar Literary Contest for Wanda and Las Cajas or the International Screenplay Competition of the American Screenwriters Association award for my English script "Hildegard".
Collateral Man/El Garante was my first published novel (Ed. Gráfica Andina, 2003, see www.collateralman.com).
As a translator, I currently work for Conectas (www.conectas.org) , UNICEF TACRO, Softitler and Darrell Crow Productions.
Since January, 2007, I was honored as curator for the International Contemporary Art Project “Arte e Luogo” (http://www.salvatorefalci.net/html/index.html ) where I also work as translator and interpreter in Italy, Argentina and Cameroun).
I´m currently writing my second novel, “Viajes de un ave fénix” and living part-time in Argentina, Italy and Cameroun. |
