My name is Anne Burke; I am American and have lived in Italy for over thirty years. During that time I have taught English as a foreign language on all levels as well as courses on the short story for mother-tongue students. Besides teaching I have been involved in translating for professors at the Politecnico di Milano on topics such as “Urban Renewal”, “Industrial Settlements in Lombardy” and “Landscape and Production”. I also did translations for the fashion magazine “More” and recently translated the book “Eccentrici” on eccentrics in the fashion world.
I love to write and have been involved with a writing group for fifteen years. Then, when time allows, I spend time in my art studio creating collages of silks and sheer fabrics that have been shown in many exhibitions.
I enjoy doing translations and make an effort to render them in a clean, contemporary language that is a pleasure to read. It is a special challenge to translate wordy Italian into a clear, concise English. Let me help you. I think you will be satisfied. |
