Price deflation was eliminated, and growth bottomed out and stabilized. In 2018, China’s macro economy will continue to be resilient, and entrepreneurs and capital markets will be in the process of rebuilding their confidence in the mid- and long-term economic growth. The growth is expected to be stable, while structurally, drivers will shift from export and property investment to consumption and manufacturing investment, with endogenous growth drivers growing. Inflation will be generally moderate, while resident income will drive the revision up of CPI. PPI is expected to decline slightly, due to carryover effects
Against the backdrop of a global recovery and resilience in China’s economic growth, monetary policy is expected to remain neutral or slightly tight, in order to facilitate the financial regulation, deal with FX pressure and prevent economic overheating; broad fiscal deficit will likely go down a bit, with the focus further turning to the public’s livelihood, poverty alleviation and environment protection. Financial regulation and risk prevention will remain priorities for the government, and tightening will be a long-term trend. Under the leadership of the Financial Stability and Development Committee, implementation of policy will be more coordinated and efficient, as regulators will be more integrated while at the same time performing their respective duties. In structural reform, the policy will focus on improving the “quality” and “sustainability "of growth to resolve mid- and long-term issues, and therefore policy makers will be more tolerant with volatility in the economy
