My name is Jadwiga (Iga) Wos and I am of Polish background. I hold MA in Linguistics after majoring in Linguistics (thesis in semantics and discourse analysis) and English and American Studies from University of Lodz, Poland, in 1990.

After
graduation I spent over six years in English-speaking countries from
the USA, UK to New Zealand, which helped to make my English native-like. It was a life-changing experience for me and has definitely immersed me in English culture, preparing me for the first part of my career as a Teacher of English and - in recent years- as an Interpreter.

Upon my return to Poland in 1996 I worked as a TEFL Teacher at WSB-NLU University in Nowy Sacz for 12
years, preparing daily classes from beginners to advanced, correcting papers and conducting exams. Also, as much as I could, I provided translations to different organisations and private clients.

However, in 2008 I made a big step in my career by immigrating to UK, where I
have lived for twelve years now. This is where my professional
career in interpreting started. Now I am an experienced
medical interpreter for Language Line Ltd. and provide telephone
interpretation for Language Services (based in Kingston-Upon-Hull) ranging from health-related topics,e.g. assisting Polish public with interpreting during an average doctor's visit, discussing mental health issues and help offered to cancer patients, to helping explain local authorities' protocols and regulations. I am also looking to restart translation and proofreading work, concentrating on quality and accuracy.

I
possess strong professional and interpersonal skills with expertise especially in
consecutive interpretation from English to Polish and Polish to English,
as well as outstanding good manners and customer service.

In my free time I
enjoy travelling, exploring new languages and cultures, mastering my photography skills, admiring art,
writing poetry, doing yoga, cycling, outdoor swimming and body-boarding.
