About me
After a first language diploma as a translator and interpreter of English and German from the state recognized private language school "Englisches Institut" in Heidelberg, Germany, in 1987 I started working as a free lance translator and interpreter for German authorities in the Heidelberg / Mannheim area. My main field of translation was the translation of legal documents.
In 1989 I graduated from Heidelberg University and obtained a degree in translation for English, Spanish, and German. My fields of specialization were law and science. After working for some time in a translation office in Eschborn, near Frankfurt, I decided to work as a free lancer again in 1991 and predominantly translated for the department of international judicial assistance of the Frankfurt regional court (civil law), and firms requiring technical translations.
In 1997 I completed a second course of university studies in social work at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt. Afterwards, from 1998 until 2000, I worked as an interpreter in the project "Migration and AIDS" at Frankfurt University hospital, combining social science and languages. In the following years, from 2001 to 2006, I worked in various international projects abroad (European Union, German Development Service, United Nations Volunteers). Since 2006 I have been working as a language teacher, translator and interpreter in Germany again.
Keywords: Translation of scientific texts and legal documents, interpreting services English & German, specialization in social science, international development and medicine.
