I was brought up bilingual, therefore I am a native speaker of both Portuguese and Spanish (both European).

I have been working in translation since 2009, first in a lawyer's office, and afterwards at a translation company, where I've worked 9+ years as an in-house "do-it-all": I've translated, proofread, edited, DTPed, localised and provided training.

I've had the opportunity of working with all kinds of technical translation, as follows:

• Scientific/medical: product leaflets, safety sheets, patient info and manuals for pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, product manufacturers, as well as proofreading of scientific articles; 
• E-commerce: translation/proofreading of a major online retailer's website as it enters/develops its business in the Portuguese market;
• Legal: contracts, birth certificates, agreements, etc. for several law firms and end clients;
• Marketing: CTAs, keywords, slogans... for companies of all kinds;
• Automotive: datasheets, corrective measurements, vehicle launches, HMI localization for vehicle manufacturers;
• IT: product info, product launches, datasheets and manuals for several computer manufacturers;
• Culinary: menus, recipes, franchise contracts and manuals for food providers;
• Gaming: game localization, contracts for several game developers,

In my free time, I usually do arts and crafts, and consequently read a lot about art, therefore I have good knowledge on the subject. 

Last, but certainly not the least, I have a degree in Journalism (Communication Sciences), and although I haven't worked on the field for much time, I still put all my knowledge to work everyday to keep up with my journalist husband. I have also written my MA thesis on journalistic translation.
