Source text - English A translation has its own life to lead in whatever foreign land it finds itself.Perhaps sending Korean literture abroad in translation, is something like sending your child to study abroad, Maybe he never returns. Or maybe when you do see him again, you might recognize parts of him that are unmistakably Korean, but you don't like how he's dressed, his sense of humor, the kind of friends he hangs out with.Much of him may too foreign, but there is Koreanness there, you can't ignore it
Translation - Korean 번역은 그것이 존재하는 어떤 생소한 곳에서도 나아가는 그자신의 생명력을 가졌습니다. 아마 번역된 한국문학을 해외로 보내는 것은 여러분의 아들을 해외로 유학 보내는 것과 유사하다고 볼 수 있습니다. 아마 아들은 영영 돌아오지 않을 지도 모릅니다. 설사 다시 만날 수 있어도 아들은 분명히 한국사람이지만 부모님 마음에 안드는 복장을 하고 마음에 안드는 유머감각, 사귀고 있는 친구들도 마음에 들지 않겠지요.그렇지만 한국사람의 정취가 거기에 있습을 무시할 수 없겠지요.
