Certified PROs.jpg

As an engineer, I crafted sustainable and affordable solutions to technical and social challenges in my city and industrial facilities, using maths and science to better the infrastructure and services in my community.

As a technical translator, I help innovative and forward-thinking businesses and organizations do the same, by providing them with accurate and legible translations thanks to my engineering background and my translation know-how.

More details:

I worked for seven years (1999-2005) as an industrial and process engineer, building and maintaining industrial facilities that produced concrete, asphalt, and their derivatives for sewage networks and roadworks.

I was in charge of writing requirements specifications, as well as installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment and machines. I was exposed to a broad set of technical knowledge, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and civil. I was fortunate enough to work with smart people who were generous with their knowledge.

Since 2005, I have translated a little more than 3 million words in my fields of specialty, and built a terminology database of 7400 terms, mainly for companies that use engineering know-how to assess environmental risks and propose technical solutions.

Recently, I took up a special interest in renewable energies, sustainable mobility, and industrial security. After reading extensively about these industries and getting advanced training, I am in the process of expanding my termbase with the aim of adding these industries to my working fields.

  • Certified translator by CTTIC (Canadian Translators, Terminologists, and Interpreters Council).
  • Recipient of McGill Associates Prize in Translation (2007/08).
  • Certificate in Translation from McGill University.

Engineering and languages are my passions. I regularly read technical books, and continuously expose myself to new engineering fields, including electricity storage. In addition to opening up new cultural horizons, languages have helped me learn more in engineering and meet more technical craftsmen.
