I am an experienced and qualified native English translator specializing in technical translations, more specifically, those of the aeronautical variety.
With the exception of one year travelling the world in 2015, I have worked exclusively as an in-house translator in France since graduating from my Master’s degree in 2011. It’s been nearly seven years of translating for some of the biggest names in the aeronautical industry – quite the learning curve as I had no previous experience in this domain, but it proved to be the perfect occasion for me to hone my skills as a translator and truly gain a deep insight into the makings of many types of aircraft.
I am experienced in translating highly technical documents on topics such as non-destructive testing techniques or accident investigation reports, as well as contracts, standard operating instructions, internal memos and press releases. Having trained as a first aider at work, and formerly a volunteer first aider for St John's Ambulance back in the UK, I particularly enjoy translating documents about health and safety at work (H&S).
I am passionate about languages and facilitating communication between two parties who would be unable to understand each other otherwise.
I am currently in the process of building my home with my partner, literally from the foundations up, so I’m becoming rapidly versed in the world of timber frame houses, roofing and environmentally-friendly construction techniques (straw bale walls and clay plastering), as such I would relish translating subject matter in this area.
I pride myself on being a prompt, punctual and determined person with a drive to ensuring on-time deliveries and a high-quality service at a fair price. Please feel free to contact me to discuss any opportunities you may have.
