You can also check my availability through Skype.My Skype ID is: piotr_bienkowski. Green status icon means I available, orange one - I am working (but you can still offer me some more work), red one (or offline) - that I am completely inundated with work and can't accept any more jobs, or I'm away from the computer. My Skype settings allow anyone to contact me, however, text chat (instant message) is preferred.

  • Translation memory database creation: by alignment of source and target texts in Trados WinAlign, SDL Align or Stingray, also in languages other than my default pair;
  • Termbases: If you are having difficulties preparing/importing a bilingual termbase in Multiterm, you want to convert an XML file exported from Multiterm to TMX (or CSV/TXT) or the other way round, I can take care of it.
  • Configuration files for CAT tools: I can prepare *.ini files for Trados TagEditor, or XML configuration files for Swordfish, for translation of XML-based formats in these programs.
  • Preprocessing for translation in Word/CAT tools: Your client sent you an XML/HTML/other strange-looking format, did not request a specific CAT tool, and you prefer to do it in Word (with Trados or Wordfast), or in a tool which can handle the XLIFF format, I can preprocess these files for you. If your client asks you to translate something in a format that is vastly different from MS Office formats, you don't need to turn the job down. There are methods and tools to handle even the very "weird" formats. If you don't want to go into the technicalities of file conversions, my service is for you. Each project is different, so this service can be priced on a case-by-case basis.
  • Programming: VBA macros for MS Word - see here; XSLT transformations - see here.
  • OCR preprocessing to make your originals CAT-friendly, also in languages which are not my translation pair. I have rich experience with it and I know how to save you a lot of trouble.

Please e-mail me (use the contact option at the top of this page), or call to talk about the details

I decided that I would bring it to your attention that by offering me work you also help me raise my two boys with autism, aged 10 and 9. Their condition restricts my ability to work in some ways and combining this with rates paid to translators which in Poland have not changed much in 15 years, as opposed to the inflation rate, and fewer jobs available during certain months and/or due to economic slowdown, this eats into my budget. Of course you are under no obligation to offer me work, but if you do, you do a good thing. My whole family says: Thank you!
