I have been a Sworn Translator since 1986 (Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay) and have been working full time for the last 15 years. I have also a solid and extense secretarial background (Executive Secretary's Diploma, Crandon Junior College, Montevideo, Uruguay) gathered in various international companies which fully complements my work as an English-Spanish qualified translator.

The degree granted by the University of Uruguay is specialized in legal translations; nevertheless, my experience covers various fields – medicine and health, legal and business, education, training and journalism, information technology among many others. More specifically, I have been working for many years for a U.S. contact lens manufacturer. This work allowed me to get an in-depth knowledge in the technical, training, marketing and business areas of this subject matter. In order to always provide a quality service, I have continuous access to specialists in these and other scientific areas.

My love for reading and literature and my background in the secretarial area, as well as several courses attended, has given me excellent skills in writing, editing and proofreading.

Personally, I like team working and this characteristic has helped me to participate in a wide variety of translation projects. Responsible, committed and thorough, I am a very fast learner and a good natured, language-loving person, so I guess I could say that I am a very good asset to any project. Besides reading, I love acting and cinema and would love to experience these fields from a translation point of view.

Technically, I work with cloud computing (TransMotion WebCatt and Idiom WorldServer) and have participated in countless projects in the abovementioned areas using many software applications such as Trados, Flash, Doc-To-Help, Adobe Acrobat, etc.

Some of my clients’ comments:

(Translation agency) "Her strong legal background and medical knowledge have led us to include her in our list of preferred contractors. Her research skills have proven to play a key role when introduced into new fields or areas of expertise. She has also done extensive work for online marketing-type media with good success.

In our experience, she has not only delivered on her commitments (in terms of deadlines, quality and thoroughness), but also come up to speed quickly on new technologies as required by particular projects.”

(Technological company) “We are extremely pleased and satisfied with both the high quality of translation and the timeliness of the work completed by Ms. di Lorenzo (…). We have an excellent professional relationship (…). We highly recommend her talent and service to other companies.”

The letters of reference and recommendation are at the request of the interested party.

That’s about all… I hope I will be able to tell you “Thank you for your business!” in a near future!
