Bio
I have a solid amount of translation experience in the video game industry. Worked as a Localization Specialist for a large game company in Yokohama. Have translated countless game manuals, bug reports, in-game text, game-related website content, creative plans, and legal documents both in-house and as a freelancer. I am a native English speaker who lived in Japan from 2000 to 2010, and I'm now based in Southern California.
Acquired my BA Honors degree in 2000 from the University of Hawaii. The degree is a double major - Japanese Studies and Linguistics.
Received an award for Excellence in Japanese Studies, and have passed the Level 1 Japanese Proficiency Exam, which is the highest.
Have worked on titles / projects for various consoles, devices, and websites, spanning most companies in the industry, including Sony Computer Entertainment, Namco Bandai, Nintendo, Konami, Sega, Taito, and Square Enix.
I have also worked with video media on many projects, translating Japanese text and dialogue from TV dramas, anime, etc. into English for voiceovers or subtitles.
