To bill for a procedure, the hospital has to submit a number of diagnosis codes to go with the procedure code ( the actual surgery + hospital stay and any in-hospital expenses) they are billing for. This is called DRG.

I have an idea it must been all goods and services that make up the hospital's budget and which therefore have a fixed price. But I don't know how you would say that on a bill!

Where does it come on the bill, Paige? It doesn't make much sense. Could it be a typo for "poste budgétaire" (which is Debbie's suggestion and certainly more logical).
