Jeżeli to hutnictwo żelaza i stali, jeżeli nieżelazne to non-ferrous metals industry. Nie metals industry, bo to przetwórstwo metali.

Metallurgy jak najbardziej poprawne, ale raczej nie jako przemysł, tylko dziedzina techniki.

  -> "Iron smelting industry" też występuje bardzo licznie. Być może "hutnictwo" jest nieco szerszym terminem niż "s.i.", ale "s.i." wydaje mi się dobrym przybliżeniem.
