I think "организационно хорошо сложенной" is begging to be condensed.
As for "guerrilla," I do prefer the military term "irregular warfare," but it doesn't fit in all contexts, and there's not enough info here to tell.

"They led a prolonged and well-organized irregular warfare effort against ..."
Assuming "руководить" does really mean "to lead," "to be the leader of," as opposed to being a variation on "bellum gerere," "вести войну" - waged.
