I can find no references to this on the 'Net, nor can I really make any sense of what it might be, technically. Although it may not be specific to this proprietary system, this part of the document is discussing the MNS cubicle (cellule) system manufactured by ABB, in a very high power implementation for a switchboard controlling the entire emergency generator plant.

I don't see where 'polarity' comes into this system anywhere — though do note, as one would expect from a large industrial system, this is of course a 3-phase supply at 230/400 V.

I am continuing my own research and have raised a question for the client, but in the meantime, would be grateful for any input from the experts out there.
