The use of "point" with opposite meanings (start/end point) keeps the original "serve/non serve" opposition

This is hard to understand without the full context (what comes before and after it?), and I don't think a literal translation is going to work. I assume "ce l'hanno fatta" means "made good" or "become famous". I had to look up Vicentini - it means inhabitants of Vicenza.
