Discussion

Gudrun Wolfrath Dec 14, 2012:
"this is a survey where you have to pick your country" - nirgendwo ist hier die Rede davon, dass ein oder mehrere Länder ausgeschlossen werden.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "das ist es wohl, danke"

Ausscheiden

In this case - if you live in a country that is not required for the survey, you are not allowed to participate.

In general - you don't fufill a requirement for a survey or interview or inclusion into a market research study

Long time no see, Renate. Danke.

ausblenden

another trabslation for screen out - though I do not see the connection in this (rather short) context.

definition

Not eligible / Screen out

Market researchers are often looking for the opinions of a very specific group of people - for example, users of a particular brand of soap. If you don't meet the qualifications for a survey you might be "screened out" or get a message that says you're "not qualified" to complete the survey. Don't take it personally! Screen-outs are a normal part of the market research process. The more we get to know you, the better we'll be able to send you surveys that you DO qualify for. And we'll still reward you even if you "screen out."

agree Sandra Rothweiler : "Ausblenden" is correct. The country name will not show on the screen if this option is selected
