Explanation:
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said 'promotional' Kate - wervend can refer to sales, or recruitment of personnel, etc. As the other terms in the sentence are general, I think this fits in perfectly: "...audiovisual productions which are informative, promotional or documentary in nature........."
