I would like to know the best translation of this phrase from Latin American Spanish into American English.

Colleagues from Spain, feel free to send me your suggestions as well. This is a translation about Mythology. Is okay to translate it as was left uncovered with the wind?

It's about the story of Theseus and the Minotaur.

I agree with Eileen that the wind is responsible for making the head visible (but that rendering is rather long-winded)

"exposed TO" is quite simply wrong as that would mean it was intentionally left uncovered TO the wind which is clearly not the case here

I thought of two different scenarios here, as I suggested that the head was exposed to the wind, but it could have also been in view as it was unveiled by the wind.
