Security deposit lodged
Thank you. And I should have made clear that I of course understand what a deposit/security deposit is, but was unsure what "entregada" meant and whether it was a specific accounting term. Your answer helped me understand it is simply that it has been handed over (rather than simply agreed or required). Thanks! |

Thank you, and I should have made clear that I of course understand what a deposit/security deposit is, but was unsure what "entregada" meant and whether it was a specific accounting term, rather than - as I have now learned - simply to denote that the deposit has been paid. |
security deposit
A security deposit is a one-time, refundable sum of money a landlord collects from a tenant in addition to their first month's rent. Collecting a security deposit is not required by law, but it can help protect you financially if a tenant causes damage to a rental or leaves unexpectedly without paying rent

tenancy deposit tendered
The term of 'security deposit' was never used in our City of London L&T / conveyancing dept., rather a rent or tenants' deposit.
Otherwise, a deposit lodged - in essence deposited - is a tautology. The deposit or bond is tendered, proffered, or simply, handed over to the landlord/s or lady.
UK / My Deposits: Is your deposit protected? Use our handy ‘Deposit Checker’ to find out if your deposit is protected with us. If you disagree with the deductions to your deposit you can raise a dispute here.
USA: The deductions exceed the security deposit *tendered*. Landlord hereby demands payment of the excess. In accordance with Paragraph 10 of the lease,

: I see no tautology in "lodged". Have you never "lodged" money in your bank account?
