agree  Nesrin: bailed/ granted bail with a condition of residence. As other answerers pointed out that bail is not mentioned, "released with a condition of residence" is safer.
4 hrs
-> Nasrin, I do not recommend the usage of the word "released," because when a person gets bailed he/she is to appear in court again and again.

recognizance

Explanation:
Since no bail was mentioned, this expression would mean he was released on his own recognizance.

This is the term mainly used in U.S courts. It does imply that the person has a valid address and promises to show up again for either an investigation or a court hearing.

agree  Randa Farhat: agree to "release" rather than "bail". but own recognizance might have a different meaning. http://www.alreadyout.com/what_is_bail/or.htm. *** as you are a court interpreter/translator then your answer must be the right term.
