Brand management/analysis
"Zu den Einzelmarken X und Y besteht keine Beziehung, da diese Marken ohne Unternehmensabsender auftreten."
"Die aufgeführten markenstrategischen Optionen entsprechen weitgehend der Einzelmarkenstrategie, wobei Autor X eine Differenzierung insofern vornimmt, als dass die Einzelmarke die Firmenmarke als Absender nutzen kann oder nicht."
The above two sentences are from a doctorate on brand management which I am translating at the moment. I haven't found a way of expressing "(Unternehmens)absender" and would appreciate any suggestions. I think the word "source" might be a part of the solution, but not on its own.
Many thanks
Ian

communicator
I would suggest working something in with "communicator". Company communicator sounds lousy, but maybe the idea could be worked into the sentences along the lines of "brands appear without being communicated by a specific company" in the first example and "individual brands can choose whether or not to use the company brand as communicator/platform for communication" in the second example.

Comment: "Excellent idea, Rebecca - I rephrased it along the lines you suggested. Many thanks to everyone else who contributed as well."

corporate umbrella brand
this is just a suggestion but it is inspired by the following site:
http://www.reichlundpartner.com/dcat/docudb/psfile/file/70/S...
where they seem to be equating "Absender" with "Marke" (there is also a lot of jargon-type vocabulary in the said article that might help you later in your text).
If the two are virtually synoymous, then what you have here is separate individual brand names that may or may not be used in conjunction with the overall brad name (of the group/parent company...)

No overt connection or reference to the originating company, something along those lines?

contract supplier details
or maybe 'supply manufacturer details'. In all cases, a play around the words 'supply' or 'supplier' - your thoughts on 'source'!
It seems to be dealing with NAME manufacturers supplying goods on a contract basis to other organisations, who then put their own brand name onto them. In general, the name of the manufacturer is not known because part of the contract is to keep it secret! The individual who might then form a 'beziehung' to these goods, usually the customer, is hindered in doing this because he/she wouldn't know the origin and/or pedigree of them.
