Hi! I'm translating a text related to the validation of microbial recovery. The word 'plate' appears many times as a verb, but I can't find a suitable translation. The following are some examples of sentences in which 'plate' as a verb appears. Thanks!!
This validation follows the procedure described for Validation Test under 71 Sterility Tests, with the exception of plating on solid medium to quantitate recovery.
The inoculum is directly plated onto the solid medium.
After addition of the low-level inoculum to the final rinse, the filter is plated as above.
This exposure should include at least two time periods showing survival of less than 100 cfu per mL, unless the rate of kill of the antimicrobial agent is such that no recovery is possible even if the microorganism is plated within minutes of exposure.
The accuracy of any estimate of viable cfu is affected by the number plated.
As the number of viable cells plated increases, crowding effects decrease the accuracy of the count, reducing the estimate.

After reading your examples and imagining what it means, and then consulting Beigbeder Atienza. Diccionario politécnico. Díaz de Santos. Of the six to seven translations which are given, this is the only plausible one.
