disagree  jarry (X): Labour credit is obviously a Dutch-based translation and is not appropriate in the circumstances. I would challenge the fact that anyone in the UK for instance would understand the meaning of this term.See my suggestion and comment below.

Employment relief / abatement / rebate

Explanation:

I would recommend my suggested terms in preference to labour credit. This would be a term more likely to be used for some kind of tax relief granted to an EMPLOYER, not an employee.

The fact that the reference provided by David calls it the so-called labour credit says it all.

working person's allowance

Explanation:
This is the name given in the new Dutch tax system to a personal allowance for people who have derived income from "work" (i.e. inkomsten uit tegenwoordige dienstbetrekking, winst uit onderneming, resultaat overige werkzaamheden dat is behaald met het verrichten van arbeid).

It is in addition to the basic personal allowance (algemene heffingskorting).

In response to \"labour credit\", a tax credit reduces the amount of tax you pay, whereas an allowance entitles you to receive an amount without having to pay tax. It\'s a subtle difference, but a difference nevertheless.
