it refers to a costume. But I don't know whether it's restricted to some people, region or period or just a kind of clothes.

Well it's not exacty a ����, it's just a ribbon with the name of the country of the contestants in beauty pageants, but it could be a ����, it all depends on the context. I hope this helps.

Sashes are just like the ribbons worn by the contestants in a beauty pageant. I am not sure of the Arabic name though.
