Einen feststehenden Terminus (small item marking) scheint es nicht zu geben. Zu finden ist auch "Kennzeichnung kleiner Artikel", m.E. nicht so schön, hätte aber den Vorteil, dass "klein" enthalten ist. Fragt sich, wie wichtig das ist oder wie sehr das schon in "Teile" implizit ist.

agree  Ulrike MacKay: Übersetzung ist, denke ich, richtig, doch bezieht sich "small" nicht auf "application"? (siehe auch oben) Gruß, Ulrike // OK, diese Details kenne ich leider nicht - war nur ein Gedanke... :-)

  -> Nein, denke ich nicht, denn bei PDF417 handelt es sich tatsächlich um einen sehr *kleinen* Barcode, der deswegen besonders gut auf *kleine* Teile passt ;-)
agree  Katrin Hollberg: Ich denke auch, dass das small zum item gehört (Stichwort RFID), auch Kleinartikel genannt - ist durchaus geläufig zur Abgrenzung ;-))
