Hello again, I´m working on my final thesis, and I chose a very complex text regarding internal combustion engines.
The context is as follows:
"within the combustion chamber three motions are generated: swirl, squish, and tumble."

Pease if anyone has the exact meaning of these word in Spanish give me an answer.

swirl/ squish / tumble=remolino (movimiento rotatorio del aire alrederdor de un eje perpendicular a la cámara de combustión)/pequeños remolinos de aire, provocados principalmente por la forma del pistón/ giro del aire en un eje transversal a la cámara de combustión.

swirl=el aire forma remolino/s. arremolinarse

squish= pequeños remolinos en la cámara de compresión (o sea en el volumen del cilindro cuando el pistón está en su Punto Muerto Superior -PMS-)

tumble = Tumble se da cuando el giro se da en un eje transversal a la cámara de combustión. Es el aire girando en forma similar al giro de un tambor ( como el tambor de un lavarropas)


Turbulencia Referido a la corriente de aire en la camara de combustión, el término turbulencia indica el tipo de movimiento de aire que hay dentro de la cámara, durante la fase de admisión e inicio de la compresión. Básicamente hay dos tipos de tubulencias: «swirl» y «tumble». Swirl se da cuando hay un movimiento rotatorio del aire alrederdor de un eje perpendicular a la cámara de combustión. Tumble se da da cuando el giro se da en un eje transversal a la cámara de combustión. Los pequeños remolinos de aire, provocados principalmente por la forma del pistón, se conocen en inglés como squish.

As mentioned earlier, the shape of the combustion chamber can help to prevent
detonation in two ways. The shape of the piston crown as it approaches the shape of
the cylinder head, can create tremendous turbulence in the gas. This squishing of the
gas mixture causes swirling and tumbling actions which causes shear tearing of the air
& fuel molecules, which results in better homogenization. This improved mixing of the
gas makes the gas burn faster. The same gas when burned faster has less time for
spontaneous combustion. The faster the burn, the less time that is available for
detonation to take place.

Squish: Gas motion caused when the piston is reaching TDC.A narrowing area between
the piston and head causes flow into the main area of the combustion chamber.
Swirl: Bulk rotation of gasses about the axis of the cylinder.

Tumble: Bulk rotation of gasses perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder.
