I'm attempting to translate it as follows:
is essentially free to structure his work and work schedule
or is it the opposite - that he's free from the responsibility of structuring his work and work schedule (i.e. the Principal decides this for him?)

I know about the AuftragnehmerIN.. actually there is a note at the beginning of the contract stating that they switch between the masculine and feminine forms in the interest of fairness... Not an easy one to replicate in English.. sometimes using "his", sometimes using "her"? |
