Italian term

che rese esecutivo

Italian to English Law/Patents Law (general)
Buonasera,
come potrei rendere l'espressione nel contesto: "con la legge numero X che rese esecutivo l’accordo dell'anno X che modificò il Concordato Stato-Chiesa cattolica del 1929 venne modificata la disciplina del matrimonio concordatario".

Grazie a tutti!

which ratified

It would seem that this was an agreement with the Vatican which amended the 1929 concordat, which could well have been the new 1984 concordat signed and ratified by the Craxi government. A concordat is an agreement between the Holy See and another state. Legally it ia a treaty and parliaments pass laws (or sometimes do not) to ratify treaties and not to enforce or implement them. Implement is OK for the EU law at national level.

It Googles particularly well:

Thanks, I was about to agree with you, but then I thought it was a concordat.

In my opinion the Law (Legge 25 marzo 1985, n. 121) and in particular the 'Protocollo Addizionale' 'apporta modificazioni al Concordato lateranense' . Therefore, 'the agreement ratifies', but 'the law 121 enforces amendments.
This is also stated by Art. 7 of our Constitution

Article 7 [Relation between State and Church]

(1) State and catholic church are, each within their own reign, independent and sovereign. (2) Their relationship is regulated by the lateran pacts. Amendments to these pacts which are accepted by both parties do not require the procedure of constitutional amendments.

I correct myself, in fact it seems...(boh?) that there was a new Concordat.

"The Protocol to the new concordat, of 18 February 1984, ratified by Law no. 121 of 25 March 1985, states that the principle laid down in the Lateran Pacts, that the Catholic religion is the only State religion, is no longer in force."
