Spanish term or phrase: 1 masticada con la comida de medio día
This is a handwritten prescription for Glucobay (Acarbose), a medication for diabetes.

My problem here is with "masticada." This word makes me think of chewing gum, but all of the web references I've found indicate that this medication is only available in tablet form.

I really need relevant references here.

Thanks.

1 chewable tablet with midday meal
Explanation:
there are many medications in "tablet" form that are chewable, and it is clearly a medication that needs to be taken with food in the case of the diabetes
