Here is some of the poem I am looking for any help on the section between the ******
Cae la noche rendida
sobre el murmullo de gente:
Negro en la puerta: un pariente.
Negras con manta: vecinas
Negros con negras chalinas.
Negra la capilla ardiente.
****La casa pone el difunto
lo demás? todo prestado:
La luz, del cuarto de al lado;
las bancas son "de aquí junto"...******
El bodeguero fue el punto,
-japonés de gran virtud-
firmó la solicitud
"garante en los funerales"
I have several ideas but they change depending on how I choose to translate certain words. I'm looking for other ideas and input. Here is what I have so far. Thanks in advance
******The house places the deceased
upon the others? all borrowed:
The light, of the room from alongside;
the benches are “together from here”… ********

lo demás? See explanation.
lo demás is not upon the others, but all the rest.
The house is so poor that they can only provide the deceased
"de aquí junto" the neighbor's benches. The benches are from the house next door.

Does the the house force death upon the rest? Everything is ready - the light, the room next door, the benches placed together, so. - HTH

The house is the decease's, everything else is borrowed
The only thing that belongs to the deceased is the house, which is its contribution to the event, apart from the corpse itself

I cooked this up for you for the sake of rhyme:...
The house belongs to the dead.
The rest? All is a borrow,
the light next door, the benches set
from around here in sorrow
Something went wrong...
