detached means it has land around it, as opposed to a town-house, which can also be single-family, but whose side walls are stuck to their neighbors' walls

No, "aislada" does not mean "individual" - I personally don't think it is necessary to translate "aislada", and that "single-family home" does it. That is what mine is called, and it has 3 acres around it to "separate" it from the world.

To me, the best translation of "aislada" in this case, given the new information, would be "individual."

it's in reference to a house. Here is the complete sentence that I'm trying to translate. "Que habiendo solicitado del Ayuntamiento de Almoradi (Alicante), concesion de licencia de obra, para una vivienda unifamiliar aislada, en la partida rural de Matarredonda, del municipio de Almoradi, y a los efectos de complementar la escritura autorizada por el Notario" Hope this helps

Can you tell what they mean by "aislada"? As you can see, it can be interpreted to mean isolated or remote, or detached, or simply separate.
