Spanish term

ceder remates

Spanish to English Law/Patents tenders, auctions
Now they are talking about tenders:

Lozano gives for remates: auction, public sale, last or highest bid, distress selling. WHich, if any, suits this context, and how to use it.

highest bid

some help - but not much

I must admit this is very confusing, but here are some definitions to help (hopefully)

distress selling = selling which is forced and often therefore at a low price, such as a stock of a bankrupt business in liquidation, or on the death of the owner of property or by court order to pay debts.

auction = a method of selling in public by letting intending buyers gather and compete with each other by making bids (offers of money); the sale is made to the person who makes the highest bid. synonym = public sale

Longman dic. of Business

competitive bidding is another option given by Alcaraz

In Vox, it says that one of the meanings of remate = postura que logra la adjudicación en subasta para compraventas, arriendos, obras o servicios, so this to me sounds like the successful bid
another (in Vox) is adjudicación de los bienes vendidos en subasta al comprador de mejor puja y condición

In some pages I've looked at, the remate seems to be the difference between the deposit you've left at the auction and the total price.

To sum up, all I can think of is transfer the successful/final bid

Final Bid Price See hammer price.

Gavel The small mallet or hammer used by the auctioneer to signal the end of bidding on each lot.

Hammer Price The final bid price, whether property is sold or unsold, announced by the auctioneer when the gavel falls. This price does not include the buyer's premium.

I think you'd better double check...

I just tried "cede awards" in a google search, and can't come up with any hits at all. See: http://www.google.com/search?q="cede awards"

It says: "Your search - "cede awards" - did not match any documents"

"awarded bids," OTOH, is perfectly good business English, but I'm not sure that it means the same thing as "ceder," which means "assign" or "transfer"
