I should have mentioned "RNM = resonancia nuclear magnetico" (as Luke rightly says) in Spanish, which is NMR in English. However, neither English nor Spanish medical terminology uses "NMR", preferring to get rid off the word "nuclear" and call it "medical resonance imaging = MRI"

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI), or magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to investigate the anatomy and physiology of the body in both health and disease. MRI scanners use magnetic fields and radio waves to form images of the body. The technique is widely used in hospitals for medical diagnosis, staging of disease and for follow-up without exposure to ionizing radiation.

You're right Muriel "magnetic resonance imaging" is more common.
But "medical" is also used.

Thanks Muriel, and you're right "magnetic" is more commonplace than "medical", but the excessively euphemistic version for NMR, "medical resonance imaging", is used. I've added examples in main answer.

Resonancia magnetica nuclear

I believe it refers to a type of imaging.

neutral Neil Ashby : That's its name in research labs, to avoid scaring patients it's called "medical resonance imaging" in medicine (although the scan is actually based on "nuclear magnetic resonance").//no probs...
