We had a fantastic turn out for the Pre-Holiday Powwow, 17 people! We met at the Keg on Jarvis Street that is also known as the Mansion, a great location with tables long enough to accomodate all of us. There were many first-time attendees, including some who were visiting from other countries.
Given the fact that we were sitting at a long dining table, and it was a rather busy night at the restaurant, we had many mini-discussions going for most of the night, but we were able to have a group discussion as well regarding interpretation practices and challenges. It turns out that the vast majority of attendees were translator-interpreters, so there were many highly experienced interpreters in attendance to give advice.
