Good evening to all collegues!

We are working in a quite big project, translating hi-tech manuals in WORD into many languages.
Those manuals contain a lot of pictures and diagrams (the contents of the most of them have to be translated too). Of course, many translators had problems with the layout and of course, we wanted to avoid that layout efforts are made by translators: it's not correct and it's time intensive for everybody.
We're now searching for a suitable solution. For a software that allows us to keep the layout indipendent from the content and, very important, that puts layout and contents together at the end, without mixing everything in a chaotic way...
By the way: unfortunately Quark Express couldn't help us.

I would be grateful for any reasonable solutionsicon_smile.gif

Thank you!!

Have a nice weekend

Lucia

hi try Framemaker. It is a wonderful program especially, if you have to compile very large documents ex: chapter size 10000 pages and 10000 chapter, electronically bound books. This works also in C/S environment. good luck

Thank You for Your suggestion, Bandi!
I'm afraid FrameMaker is not the "perfect" (or almost perfect) solution for our problem.
We're still trying it out, but we already saw that many functions we'd need miss in framemaker.

If somebody else has tried something else, I'd be pleased to receive other suggestions!
Thanksicon_wink.gif
